# From Altun Ha to Caracol and Xunantunich
Altun Ha war wahrscheinlich eine wichtige und reiche Handelsstadt, circa 50 Kilometer nördlich der heutigen Stadt Belize City.
Die archäologischen Maya Stätten Caracol und Xunantunich liegen in der Nähe der heutigen Stadt San Ignacio, nahe der Grenze zu Guatemala. Beide Stätten haben hohe Pyramiden, auf die man hinaufsteigen darf.
Altun Ha was probably an important and wealthy trading city, about 50 kilometers north of present-day Belize City. The Mayan archaeological sites of Caracol and Xunantunich are located near the modern city of San Ignacio, close to the Guatemalan border. Both sites feature tall pyramids that visitors are allowed to climb.
